Hannah and Jon wanted a fun party with great food, a great DJ and great drinks. Being the first of their friends to tie the knot, the bride and groom wanted everyone to have a blast. Hannah and Jon were high school sweethearts. They had the amazing opportunity to have their ceremonyin his family’s Lake Oswego backyard where he grew up. Following the ceremony, guests made their way to OMSI for a fun night of eating, dancing, and drinking. Hannah and Jon had many little unique details that really personalized their wedding. They have a pet Ducks so at the ceremony, Jon’s mom surprised them with two small Duck statues at the at the altar. Jon is a big beer enthusiast so for guest favors he brewed three different types of beers and bottled them in 20 oz bottles. Keeping with the OMSI/Science theme we custom made table assignments using the Periodic Table of Elements – assigning each guest an element box. “Slices” were served as a late night snack and special surprise to Jon and his buddies. Slices is a restaurant on the East Coast that Jon and his friends would frequent. The restaurant serves only slices of plain pizza with different sides (ranch, BBQ sauce, blue cheese, Oregano, etc). Their guests celebrated until midnight then headed to APEX (wedding dress and all) for an after party. NATALIA and Hannah had a unique routine during the planning process…scheduling runs and nailing down details as they sweat!
OMSI was the perfect location for this modern, romantic and unique wedding which was coordinated by JENNIFER. Helen and Joe incorporated many personal touches including a handmade ceremony backdrop and wedding favors. Helen and Joe included their love of “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” movie in to their special day by referencing it in the seating cards and wedding cake. This fun and loving couple enjoyed the Portland downtown skyline as a back drop for their cocktail hour and wedding photos. The guests enjoyed delicious salads and specialty flatbreads for dinner. The DJ kept the party going and guests enjoyed the photo booth. It was a perfect day for this beautiful couple, their family and friends! So much so thatOREGON BRIDE MAGAZINE has it featured in its current resource guide!
