Evie + Sean

I absolutely loved working with Evie and Sean! It was clear from the beginning of our planning that the two adored one another and envisioned a simple, yet elegant wedding day surrounded by their loved ones.

Evie and Sean chose to be married in a traditional Greek ceremony at Holy Trinity Greek Church, and after saying β€œI do”, they headed downtown Portland in their vintage getaway car.

Everyone then made their way to Portland Art Museum for cocktail hour and the reception. While the bride and groom took photos around the park blocks, guests sipped on cocktails and enjoyed views of the art museum’s sculpture garden in the summer sun.

The reception took place inside, where the white columns and classic design of the sunken ballroom were accented by amber lighting and simple greenery.

The absolute highlight of the dΓ©cor was the meaningful fig tree centerpieces that Evie and Sean prepared for each table.

Along with each tree, there was a card that read, β€œIn the 1960’s, Evie’s Grandfather, Pappou Sotiris, brought a cutting of a fig tree inside a shoebox from his village, Plataies, Greece to Portland; however, upon arrival, US Border Patrol quarantined the β€œplant material.” After certification and release, it was planted in his home in the SW Hills of Portland. Years later, the tree was transplanted in Dalton and Keti’s yard, where it continues to thrive, in a small way to honor Pappou’s memory, we rooted cuttings earlier this year to share as centerpieces tonight…”

At the end of the night, guests were also invited to take a fig tree home with them.

Vibrant Table served dinner family style, and while everyone enjoyed their food, Evie and Sean made their way around to each family table to personally thank everyone for coming to celebrate with them.

After toasts and the official dances took place, the dance floor and photo booth were open for business. I will never forget the moment that Bryce with Event Team Entertainment proclaimed that the dance floor was open; it was a mad rush to get on your feet, and not a single person remained in their seat!

The energy in the room was infectious, and everyone loved the mix of current dance music, wedding classics, and class Greek song.
