Megan + Dean

I have known Megan since our days together back at Gonzaga University.  We shared a house with a super fun (and crazy) group of girls and I have so many great memories from it--I'm beyond thankful social media wasn't around back then!  Megan always made me promise that one day I would plan her wedding....well that day finally came last spring and I was honored to make good on it!  When Dean came into the picture and swept her off of her feet, I had never seen my friend happier. This guy is seriously a dream...full of sweet surprises (he flew her to Florence, Italy to propose!), thoughtful gifts (flowers for no reason are a norm), he's a great father (their nine year old Vivienne is the cutest) and he is just an all around good guy. It's been fun getting to know Dean and Megan + Dean as a couple.

When it came to the wedding itself, Megan + Dean knew they wanted a super fun party for their friends and family that at the same time wasn't too stuffy.  The Foundry in Sodo was the perfect location for the event, and the wine barrels certainly spoke to Megan's love of vino (some things never change). From there, they left much of the planning up to me.  We incorporated tones of eggplant, burgundy and silver and kept the room warm with candles and a cozy layout for both the ceremony and reception.  Megan's brother officiated the ceremony and kept guests both laughing and crying throughout. The couple also included a symbolic candle ceremony to honor their new family, including Vivienne as well.

For the reception, we incorporated wood tables, lush flowers, soft grey linens and cootie catchers printed with the menu on the place setting. The first time Megan + Vivienne met, they made these together so it was a fun way to personalize each setting. We brought in romantic lighting and repurposed our ceremony flowers in the bar/dance area.

Mid-dancing, Dean had a surprise planned for Megan, who happens to be a huge So You Think You Can Dance fan. He hired local ballroom dancers to come perform and they choreographed a dance that mimicked the couple's relationship. She was blown away, as were the guests!

The whole day was a blast and everything came together beautifully.  Guests had an amazing time and Megan + Dean glowed all night.  Loved being  a part of such a special day!
