Megan + John

One of my favorite text messages from 2017 was from one of my close friends telling me she was engaged.  After (obvious) excitement on my end, she followed up by asking me to help her and John plan their wedding.  An honor that will remain with me for a lifetime.

Although there was not a specific date in mind, Megan and John knew they wanted to get married that same year.  Engaged in mid-January, we started looking towards late fall (knowing how our fellow Husky fans felt about September weddings!).  After touring and falling in love with The Foundry by Herban Feast - we knew it was the space, and as luck would have it they not only had an October date, but they also, much to our surprise also had July 1st.  Both Megan and John were ready to start living their happily ever after, and with 5 months to plan their dream wedding, I was up for the challenge!

Those months flew by in the best way possible, and before we knew it we had arrived - Wedding weekend!  We kicked off the festivities with an intimate dinner at Marian Built Loft in Ballard, followed the next night by a welcome party at the Seattle Yacht Club.  We had so much fun showing Seattle off with the two different venues, and also bringing their guests together for what promised to be a magical celebration the following day.

And celebrate did we ever!  Megan and John (and the amazing, Matt Land!) shared their first look in the rooftop bar, of the Thompson Hotel, before being joined by their best friends for photos around Downtown Seattle.  All the while our dream team went to work at the venue.  Before long we were welcoming guests to be seated to watch these two make it official.  One of their best friends officiated their very special ceremony, and it is safe to say there were few dry eyes.

Following a much celebrated first kiss the party began - or began again after two nights of festivities!  Guests headed into the foyer for cocktails and apps while, we transformed the space into the dining room.  Voile runners, shades of blue, hanging chandeliers, and (southern) peaches were just a few of my favorite elements that were brought in to personalize the already beautiful space.  We dined family style, had amazing wedding cake (thank you Sweet Side!) and could not wait to get on the dance floor.

Johnny from Otto-Matic kept the dance floor moving as we passed out our final surprise - glow sticks!  It was an unforgettable night, filled with heart-felt well wishes, the most loving families and friends who were now family, too many hugs to count, smiles that left your cheeks sore for days, and one of my favorite couples I have ever worked with.  Looking back on this wedding there, truly was something magical about it.  Somehow everything fell into place...the perfect date, the perfect vendors, details, just proving to me once more, and something I already knew these two were meant to be - the perfect couple.
