Kimmy + Jake
Early on in the planning process, Kimmy and Jake let us know that they wanted their wedding day to be nontraditional, funky, and FUN! With just these three details, we knew this would be a stunning event for the books and gathered a dream team of vendors to help bring their vision to life.
Held at Coopers Hall on a stunning September evening, the intimate space was the perfect classic Portland location for their ceremony and reception. Amy from Brier and Ivy brought a color explosion of oranges, greens, yellows, and even some tiny sweet tomatoes as the perfect compliment to Coopers Hall’s natural in-house greenery.
Since the couple both work in advertising, they wanted to bring a personal touch to their day by designing and printing all of their own signage and paper goods. All we could say was WOW! From the welcome sign to dinner menus and cocktail signage, every piece felt like a handmade work of art. Both Kimmy and Jake also grew up with adorable childhood nicknames – Kimmy Bunny and Jake the Snake – and they found the perfect way to incorporate their bunny and snake graphic into different elements of the day. The pair even wore pins of the other’s signature animal close to their heart.
As the ceremony began, Kimmy descended down the stairs in her gorgeous satin gown as Jake awaited her at the end of the aisle in his retro brown suit. Kimmy’s sister delivered an elegant and personalized ceremony that left not a dry eye in the house. After the couple sealed their vows with a kiss, the celebrations were officially on! Dinner was served as a delicious family-style meal while family and friends toasted the newlyweds with heartfelt speeches and hilarious childhood stories. Hit Factory kicked the party into high gear as the band got guests out onto the dancefloor and Kimmy slipped away to change into her second outfit, a gorgeous 2 piece set.
When the evening finally came to a close, guests were full from delicious late night donuts provided by Coopers Hall and riding the high of celebrating the newlyweds. It was the perfect ending of the perfect day and we are so grateful to have taken part in this fun and funky celebration for two of the sweetest!
