Reflecting on 2013

This is always one of my favorite posts of the year…although I can’t believe 2013 is already over! I love taking some time after the madness of the holidays to sit back and reflect on the past year, while also planning goals for the year to come. 2013 was a doozie, to say the least. Personally, it was one of the best while also the scariest of my life. My husband, Tyler, and I welcomed our baby boy Gavin into the world in March. Unfortunately, he decided to make his appearance two months before he was due, so we spent a month with him getting bigger and stronger in the NICU.

Professionally, 2013 was our biggest and busiest year yet with more events than ever before, and the best team in our company’s history. From WINNING AWARDS to being FEATURED NATIONALLY, there is so much to be excited about.  I may be biased but I truly believe that our BRIDAL BLISS TEAM is nothing short of spectacular. Each of these wonderful women bring something special to the table.  In addition to their expertise, willingness to go above and beyond and creative spirit, these girls are FUN! They really stepped up their game this last season while I was out with Gavin, and the weddings they coordinated were stunners.  We’ve celebrated our own WEDDINGS, births, engagements and kicking cancer’s butt this year and I’m so fortunate not only to work with these women, but also to call them my friends. My team members keep me humble and on my toes, and I am so very grateful.

2014 looks to be yet another busy year. We have never been so booked this early on and the couples we are working with could not be more darling. I’m excited to have recently connected with some new local wedding professionals offering unique services and it will be fun to incorporate them into our events. We will continue to take exceptional care of our clients and also support the vendors that have taken extra special care of us and our couples for the last 12 years. I look around at our local wedding community often and am always taken aback by the level of creativity, skill and quality that we have at our fingertips here in Portland. So many wonderful people to work with…and I’m lucky to call many my friends.

I’m so energized for the year to come, to watch my son grow, to take a few trips, to connect with friends/family and to work with some amazing clients.  Thanks so much for your ongoing support, I wish YOU and yours a very happy and healthy 2014.
