Abby + Kendrick
I met Abby in sixth grade - from middle school sleepovers to a senior trip to Cabo, we've been through a lot together! Fast forward to the fall of 2020, when Abby got engaged to her person, Kendrick. Following their engagement we sat down to chat about wedding possibilities and I couldn't help but nearly beg to help her with their big day! Luckily it didn't take too much persuasion, and I had the pleasure of walking alongside Abby and Kendrick as they planned their dream wedding weekend in Sunriver, Oregon!
Abby grew up going to Sunriver and it has always been her happy place. She and Kendrick have created memories of their own there over the past few years, and so it felt like a no brainer for them to host their wedding there at the central Oregon resort.
After weeks of extreme temperatures and smoky skies, we awoke on their wedding day to blue skies and a comfortable 80 degree day. Their ceremony took place on the Mt. Bachelor Lawn, overlooking the cascades. Day-of goods were designed by Crave, including a watercolor pinecone that the groom's late mother painted. All pieces were thoughtful and gorgeous and helped tell a story throughout the day.
Following the ceremony guests enjoyed ice cold cocktails and a splattering of amazing hors d'oeuvres. To give you an idea of their emphasis on food, the couple tasted 12 hors d'oeuvres at their tasting and selected SEVEN to offer their guests. Guests were then invited into the historic Great Hall, where flowers from Summer Robbins POPPED + a combination of rentals from Curated and elegant LaTavola linens created an elevated rustic look that complimented the gorgeous venue.
From a Grand Entrance to the Chicago Bulls theme song, to a surprise visit from an ice cream truck as an ode to the bride's late father, the reception was full of personality and fun. The groom's toast may have been the highlight, as he read his journal entry from the night he first met Abby...it was amazing
Planning weddings always brings me so much joy, but when I've known the bride since we were 12, it means a little something different. It was such a joy to work with Abby and Kendrick, and I cannot wait to see their life unfold as newly weds and beyond!
