Christina + Drake

Where do I begin - this couple and this day were absolute perfection! From the very beginning, I knew I was lucky to work with Christina & Drake. Their sense of style, class and kindness is not often matched. Their vision came to life as the day began and late October weather cooperated. The wedding party toured around Portland in the Portland trolley before reaching the ceremony and reception location. Castaway lent the perfect urban backdrop while we packed the space with modern, yet soft and simple details.

The ceremony was romantically draped and candle lit, while the couple stood underneath a lush installation of eucalyptus and olive leaves by Blum. Guests mingled with signature cocktails outside on the patio before being invited into the reception. Italian chocolate escort cards led family and friends to their seats where gold lanterns, crisp white blooms and sage colored greenery greeted them. Acrylic and gold laser cut details adorned the space, as well as hanging greenery hoops and Edison bulbs lining the head table.

Heartwarming toasts and dances were held under perfectly executed lighting by Hollywood Lights. As guests danced the night away, Fifty Licks and Bunk sandwiches parked their trucks outside to curb late night cravings. This was truly a night to remember as every chic detail fell right into place and created a masterpiece! CONGRATS Christina & Drake, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your day!

I had an incredible experience working with Bridal Bliss to plan my October 2017 wedding. I was the maid of honor in my friends’ wedding back in June 2016, and she was working with a Bridal Bliss planner, and I knew from THAT day that I had to look no further one day when I got married. I worked with Carrie, who was incredibly organized, responsive, and professional. She went above and beyond the expectations I had for a day-of planner and made the wedding planning process not just smooth, but fun. My entire bridal party raved about her. She was so relaxed which set the tone for our big day. She kept me out of the little things and allowed me to truly enjoy the week leading up to the wedding stress-free. I trusted her with everything and she had my back in conversations that can be complicated with vendors. I would HIGHLY recommend Bridal Bliss and any of their planners, you will have zero regrets.

Mimi + Joel | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Zeb Andrews Photography

As a foreigner myself, I especially love helping to plan multicultural weddings that honor the backgrounds of both families and that draw guests from all over the world. It’s just so fun! Mimi and Joel’s wedding was no exception. How could it be when Joel kicked off the celebration by opening a bottle of champagne by sabrage?!

Drawing inspiration from Mimi’s Arabic heritage and focusing on Mimi and Joel’s shared love for food, we developed a “Spice Routes” theme. Guests found their spice-named tables with mini bottles of za’atar blend as escort cards displayed beneath an expansive world map hand drawn by a local artist. A sense of movement and varied destinations was accomplished by layering different shades and desert colors across the room -- champagne, rust, copper, dusty palm. Naturalistic, romantic florals in vibrant hues were accented with gold Moroccan style lanterns, and a large installation of soft ivory chiffon drape framed the altar space and later the cake and desserts.

The music continued the theme, featuring Mimi and Joel’s favourites from around the world including everything from the sounds of Caribbean reggae to middle eastern influenced dance hits. A feast of middle eastern dishes was accompanied by wines from Joel’s family’s winery, with a reserve barrel of wine blended especially for the occasion.

However, to end the night we had to bring back a nod to Portland and so Mimi and Joel were whisked away in a pedicab to the cheers of their friends and family! Congratulations again, Mimi and Joel!

Laura + Jamie

There wasn't a dry eye in the house as Laura was walking down the aisle, mine included. It takes a lot for me to cry but these two nailed it. The way that Jamie looks at Laura is ridiculous he is so in love with her and doesn't dare not let it go unnoticed. His vows to her were the sweetest vows I've ever heard and to top it all off her uncle was their officiant. I cannot put into words how much love with surrounding these two. It was such a beautiful day. I really can't pick one aspect of the wedding I loved the most, everything was amazing.

From the custom Nike's, to the custom made guest book, or the custom SnapChat filter...everything about Laura and jamie's day was personal. Congratulations you two! It was an honor being part of the planning process and thank you for teaching me about SnapChat!

Madi + CJ

Madi and CJ's wedding was a classy, sophisticated event. There was so much love in the room and you could tell they had an enormous support system with them during the whole planning process.  The couple's reception at Castaway was absolutely perfect. The delicate details of the day were perfectly planned to play off each other. The garland and gold accents really  helped soften the room just perfectly. It was clear they both wanted to throw one amazing party and they did just that! Madi + CJ provided their guests with not only Salt and Straw for dessert but also PDX Sliders for a late night snack. It was absolutely an amazing beautiful day and I was so honored to be a part of it.

Minimalistic Editorial Shoot

It is always exciting when we are asked to be a part of an editorial shoot.  It's even more exciting when you are given the opportunity with creative freedom from an editor that doesn't micro-manage you. This is exactly what happened with our black, white and gold "Minimalistic Chic" shoot with Portland Bride + Groom Magazine.  The floral chandelier to all the posh accents just put it over-the-top.  I absolutely love how it turned out--hope you do too!

Kait + Grant | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Fotovitae | Dosha

Kait and Grant worked with Natalia to plan their CASTAWAY wedding which took place on a rainy but beautiful Saturday night.  The couple wanted a wedding that perfectly described them as a couple – which meant their love of food,  the Arizona Wildcats and good music (think GOODFOOT on a Friday night). On the day of their wedding they got exactly what they wanted! | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Fotovitae | Dosha

Even though the forecast called for rain all day, all parties decided to risk it and stick with the original outdoor ceremony plan.  To their luck, there was a break in the clouds and the ceremony took place in POMERIUS NURSERY.  Guests were treated to delicious appetizers and specialty cocktails and later a gorgeous and delicious buffet all from DEVIL’S FOOD CATERING.

The music was loud and the dance floor packed as Kait and Grant celebrated their nuptials with their closest friends and family. Traditions like a special “Loving Cup” ceremony by Grant’s fraternity brothers took place and the dessert was a large Arizona Wildcats basketball court full of cupcakes as well as delectable mini pie’s from PIE SPOT.  What a night!

Steph + Cory | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Jessica Watson Photography | Zest Floral

Steph and Cory met in college and are such an incredible people. They instantly became a couple that MEGHAN loved working with and their personalities were really reflected in all the festivities and details they created. From the book initials and table numbers to the eclectic mix of centerpieces by ZEST FLORALthe couple created a truly beautiful look for their DIY wedding day at CASTAWAY. They were married in front of a fireplace mantel backdrop in VERSAILLES GARDENwith breathtaking views of the Marquam Bridge in the background. Then it was time to celebrate! CHAD DOWLING PRODUCTIONS kept the party going with a photo booth filled with fun props and great music to get everyone on the dance floor.

Susanna + Andrew | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Aaron Courter Photography | Solabee Floral

Susanna and Andrew fell in love with the garden next to CASTAWAY and just knew they had to use it for their ceremony. POMARIUS NURSERY was a perfect setting for this lovely couple to tie the knot. Susanna worked with MEGHAN and continued the whimsical garden feel inside Castaway with terrariums filled with tea lights that hung from manzanita trees- the room just glowed! JUNE BUG jammed throughout the night with a fun Pop Folk sound. The details to this event were so fabulous that JUNE BUG WEDDINGS featured it!
