Darcy + Joey

Darcy and Joey are an UNREAL couple with the best love story of all time. Portland is simply a stop along their journey, as they both work for Nike at the moment, and I feel so lucky I got to meet them along the way!

Originally, Darcy & Joey were to say their "I-do's" on the rooftop of Ecotrust, but 93 degree weather is not ideal for an outdoor ceremony. The switch to hold the entire event at the Armory two days before the wedding was nothing short of amazing and came together beautifully!

The ceremony was intimate and sweet. Their long time friend officiated and there wasn't a dry eye in the house during their vows!

Family style dinner was served and sweet toasts were made. Then came the real party...their four and a half hour dance party!

Throughout the planning process Darcy made a point to make sure their guests would at least have 3 hours of dancing. We did that and more when we got Darcy changed into her sequin jumpsuit and coordinated a flashmob with her 30+ girlfriends. It was AMAZING. I was beaming in the corner so proud of my bride!!

Darcy & Joey, I wish you nothing but happiness on your new marriage. You two are the absolute BEST!

Big thanks to Junebug for the feature!

Kelsey + Drew

Kelsey & Drew were two of the best!! Every meeting we sat down and thought of ways to make this wedding more unique, more creative, and more classy! My favorite part about this one was definitely their unique escort card wall. I have a passion for a fun escort card wall – so when a client wants to do one – I want to make it even better than the last!

The pair wanted an elegant and classy color scheme with lush white floral and tons of greenery. Liz Rusnac totally accomplished their color dreams with beautiful ceremony arrangements and a GORGEOUS stairwell garland that set the tone for the entire evening.

Once we came up with the general design of the escort card wall, I took it to Liz to see if she could help us with the wreath portion. She blew it out of the park! Liz & her sweet husband ending up building a custom 5 foot by 9 foot circle garland for our one-of-a-kind escort card display. Guests were greeted by a gold foiled pocket card with an insert that had their name and table assignment. It was the perfect personal touch while still being elegant.

The ceremony was perfect in every way! Kelsey came down that magical staircase and met her dad at the bottom. They exchanged their vows, said “I do!” and got ready to party. Art of Catering passed delicious appetizers and yummy drinks, meanwhile the photo booth was open up in the Ovation Room. The Bylines (if you haven’t heard them perform yet, you have to!) were a phenomenal touch to cocktail hour, guests even started dancing!

After a fun cocktail hour and delicious dinner, Kelsey & Drew shared their first dance down on the dance floor while guests and family watched from above. It was amazing! They finished dancing the night away with delicious desserts and cake from Dream Cakes. Oh & not to mention, the adorable cigar bar we set up for guests (and mostly Drew ;) ) to enjoy in between dancing. Who knew they would have taken the entire party outside?!

It’s so fun when you become connected with a couple and watch everything come to life. Kelsey and Drew, it was such a pleasure getting to coordinate your dream day. Congratulations!

Catherine Sammon from Bridal Bliss exceeded our expectations. She went above and beyond to help us plan the wedding! She had great ideas and suggestions. Honestly it’s difficult to plan anything with our work schedules and she literally did everything! We will use her again for any event planning we have in the future. Thanks Catherine!

Julianne + Tyler

The second I met Julianne & Tyler, I just knew their wedding would be stunning and so fun to be a part of! The two of them met at University of Washington and continued to date long distance after Tyler moved to Portland. Although they currently live in California, they knew they wanted to be married in Portland and picked Gerding Theater at The Armory as their venue- the perfect mix of elegance and raw industrial accents.

As we met to chat about their wedding, I loved hearing about the amazing and personal details they wanted to incorporate into their big day to make it unique and completely them. From the trio of hanging crystal chandeliers and gold-rimmed place settings to the Price apple crates that came from Tyler’s family apple farm, their wedding details were a perfect fit. Huge congrats to this fabulous couple!

Elizabeth + Phil

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Liz and Phil planned their destination wedding in Portland and chose The Grotto and Gerding Theater at The Armory to truly capture Portland with the help of their coordinator, Meghan. The couple tied the knot with Phil's childhood priest officiating a beautiful ceremony in the outdoor chapel at The Grotto. Then, guests made their way downtown for a truly urban reception in the heart of the Pearl District. Once cocktail hour ended, guests headed way upstairs to an elegantly decorated reception with watercolor details, beautiful arrangements from Blum Floral, and airplants in gold, geometric vases that Liz and Phil made by hand for each guest. After a tasty dinner from Devil's Food, Guests were treated to a amazing section of individual desserts made by Phil's family- it was hard to pick just one!

Sarah + Carter

NORA had so many favorite details from Sarah & Carter’s gorgeous winter wedding that she had a hard  even putting it in words!  They are an absolutely beautiful couple, both inside and out.  Sarah also happens to be a FASHION AND BEAUTY BLOGGER, and has quite possibly one of the best PINTEREST PAGES we’ve ever seen. Nora adored these two and their families, and was so happy to see their sparkly yet elegant vision come to life.  She loved how intimate and warm the GERDING THEATER event felt despite the cold weather outside.  Everything from the bride’s stunning dress and accessories, the maids’ fur wraps, the venue lit up in amber tones,  geometric yet understated linens, all the candles glowing and the lush white flowers sparkling among the mercury glass details made this wedding pure magic. Every detail (as featured on WEDDING LOVELY & POP SUGAR) was well thought out and they were able to execute the day without a single small hiccup.  Sarah & Carter pulled off the wedding they had hoped for–pure glamour and a super fun party that their guests will not soon forget.  Congrats Sarah & Carter!

Aerial Artists

Want to keep your guests on their toes with a fun surprise?  How about hiring talented aerial artists to perform or even serve champagne to guests?  Guests loved it at SAM & DEVIN’S ARMAORY WEDDING

Sam & Devin had a blowout wedding and reception at Gerding Theater at The Armory this last September.  We helped with Day-Of assistance and it was obvious that there was much thought that went into this big event.  OREGON BRIDE MAGAZINE thought so as well…Sam & Devin’s photo was published in the current issue under the “Local Weddings of Note” feature.

Everything from Aerial Dancers serving champagne to guests to an artist hired to paint the reception as it was happening and a few wardrobe changes were just a few touches that made this wedding one to remember.
