Theresa + David

Theresa and I were friends from way back when, so when she asked me to help plan her wedding, I was totally honored and couldn't be more thrilled for her and David.  With a wedding in April and the dicey weather in Portland, Leftbank Annex couldn't have been the more perfect fit for their wedding.  We actually lucked out with the weather that day and Amanda K was able to capture the most beautiful bridal portraits amongst the last of the blossoming cherry blossoms before coming to the venue for the festivities.

The ceremony took place under an incredibly crafted hanging arbor, created by the talented Blum Floral in Design. Dripping in greenery and cherry blossoms, David & Theresa said their vows in a ceremony performed by their close friend.

After the ceremony, the room was transformed into a beautiful setting for a family style dinner, served by Devil's Food Catering.  We used a combination of long and round tables to make the most of the space that Leftbank offers, leaving plenty of space for their donut dessert bar and dance floor.  Being huge Blazer fans, and the first night of the playoffs (which the Blazer's were hosting at home), we had the game playing on the tv screens.  It was an incredible evening for two amazing people, I couldn't have been more honored to be a part of it.

From preliminary planning, to tastings and tours, to the big day itself, Katy was on top of it. We knew much of what Bridal Bliss would do for us was in the planning stages, but they really shined on our wedding day. We would happily recommend Bridal Bliss to anyone planning a wedding!

Shannon + Charlie

Shannon + Charlie are every planner's dream clients. They are fun, full of personality and just truly the nicest people you will ever meet. Planning their wedding couldn't have been more fun. Shannon had a great vision for what she wanted, and we clicked instantly.  With a venue like Leftbank Annex, the possibilities were endless.

Their day was nothing but amazing, with a beautiful ceremony taking place amongst their loved ones followed by cocktail hour where we then transformed the ceremony space into an intimate dinner reception for just over 200 guests.

Using a combination of mixed tables, floral chandeliers which were used as centerpieces for the round tables and lush floral and greenery for the wooden long tables.  La Tavola's velvet linen for the tables brought a special warmthness to the urban space which Art of Catering served a family style dinner.

We incorporated  elements of their invitation suite throughout the day, we utilized arrows for different areas such as the escort wall, cake decor, even personalized ice cubes for cocktails.  So fun!

The night was incredible and one to remember for sure.  Shannon & Charlie, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your special day!

Amanda + Sam

Pretty much from our first meeting I knew that Amanda and Sam along with Amanda's mom, Lynn, were going to be amazing clients and I was going to love planning with them. They were so nice and we had so much fun meeting to chat about details.

Amanda and Sam spent the afternoon taking photos as Sweetlife Photography beautifully captured the moments and details of the day before arriving at Left Bank Annex for their ceremony. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful as Amanda made her way down the aisle with her mom!

After the ceremony, guests mingled downstairs for cocktail hour as the main room was transformed for dinner. They had worked with Brenna Burnett Florals to create a soft, romantic feel in Left Bank Annex. The juxtaposition of the pillar candles and loose greenery to the urban feel of the space, was a perfect look for these two.

Devil's Food served a delicious meal before guest made their way to the dance floor for bite size desserts and dancing! Peter Ford Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night with the couple's favorites! Amanda and Sam, I am so happy I got to know you two and be a part of your wedding! You two are such amazing people and a wonderful couple.

Maggie + Matt | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Sincerely Jaclynn Photography

Maggie and Matt had an intimate wedding ceremony in a Seattle courthouse near their home with just their best man and maid of honor. A few days later, they threw a big party (as they called it) in Portland to celebrate with all of their friends and family from near and far. The Leftbank Annex was the perfect venue for this fun, light-hearted celebration.

Maggie and Matt are aerospace engineers and they incorporated their love of both building things and airplanes into their reception. I thought I had seen every centerpiece possible until they showed up with hand painted pots filled with succulents and model airplanes sticking out. What a cute, original way to personalize the décor! Table assignments were listed on a board divvied up by type of aircraft and each diner table included a bag of Legos for the guests to “build a gift” for the happy couple. Each table was also given an entertaining quiz to see how well they knew the bride and groom. I was blown away with the creativity and thoughtfulness that Maggie and Matt put into planning each detail of this reception so their guests would have a wonderful evening. It was so fun bringing their clever ideas to life!

Dinner was not only delicious but entertaining! Once guests were seated, Crown Paella catering walked in with a 5-foot-wide pan (took 3 adults to carry it) and set it on the buffet line. Definitely a wow factor! The head chef then welcomed everyone and provided a little instruction on how to dish the food. The secret is to scrape against the pan to get the caramelized deliciousness hidden at the bottom : )

From planning to partying, it was so fun to be around Maggie and Matt and see how they genuinely adore each other. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your love story and letting me help make your special celebration unforgettable!

Carly + Lee | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Dylan & Sara Photography

Carly & Lee had just moved to Portland shortly after getting engaged. Knowing that all but two of their guests would be traveling from out of town, they wanted to make sure their wedding weekend was one that no one would forget.  With New Years Eve falling on a Saturday, they knew it was the perfect date!

With both the ceremony and reception at Leftbank Annex, we had room to play with the space giving both ceremony & reception a romantic, warm, winter feel.  Blum designed an amazing hanging floral arch adorned with candlelight all around the base surrounding Carly & Lee as they said their vows. After the ceremony, guests made their way downstairs for cocktail hour, while the upstairs was transformed into the reception space which included a gorgeous lounge area with white, gold and black furniture and accents.

To top it off, balloons strung above the dance floor for the midnight drop. Mixtures of long and round tables mixed up the reception space, each table covered with champagne linens, gold beaded chargers, champagne napkins adorned with menus and rosemary sprig to top it off.  Blum created gorgeous garlands and arrangements for each table that helped give the room a warm feel.

After dinner, guests danced the night away with live music from the amazing Precious Byrd Band who helped ring in the New Year by singing Auld Lang Syne.  It was a night to remember and a great start to Carly & Lee's life together. Congratulations you two!

Nikkie + Raffi

This wedding is one for the books! Nikkie & Raffi live in California but when it came time for their wedding they decided to treat their family & friends to a Pacific Northwest wedding. Wanting food, flowers & music to be the focus - we dove head first into making this a memorable night for everyone!

After selecting Left Bank Annex for their wedding - the design began to take shape. Hanging floral chandeliers and Edison bulbs were the backbone for a perfect juxtaposition on the exposed brick & cement. Blum Floral designed beautiful, lush florals featuring garden roses, roses, ranunculus, veronica, eucalyptus, olive, sage, clematis, spirea. The flowers were designed to fill the room and create intimate table settings for guests.

Devil's Food wowed the guests with a menu that featured local purveyors and seasonal ingredients - including a crowd favorite Lobster Pasta. In between courses guests were out of their seats dancing to the tunes of Eddie Grimberg & the Sunlight Orchestra. After dancing and dinner guests were treated to late night sweets from Dream Cakes and Salt & Straw. It was the perfect sweet ending to an amazing day! Congrats you two!

Kristen + Spencer | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Deyla Huss Photography

From day one Kristen and Spencer told me they wanted one big party with their family and friends. So we dove in and started planning one. Kristen and Spencer selected Left Bank Annex for their venue and it was the perfect venue. With the help of Kristen's good family friend, Left Bank Annex was brought to life by decorating the venue with branches, jewel toned flowers and lots of candles.

At the ceremony, there wasn't a dry eye in the place however, not from what you think - it was all from laughter. Kristen and Spencer planned a ceremony that was sweet yet filled with humor and love. Guests definitely knew they were at the right wedding as these two love to laugh and have fun.

Devils Food kept the drinks flowing all night with specialty cocktails named after the couple: the Feisty Ginger & the Belligerent Banker. They served up a delicious dinner treating many of their out of town guests to a true Northwest food experience.

After toast Kristen and Spencer's wish came true. They had one big ol' party. Barely leaving the dance floor, Kristen, Spencer and their guests danced the night away. This was one wedding for the books and we were so glad to be apart of such an amazing night. | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Deyla Huss Photography

Jackie + Matt

Jackie and Matt’s celebration was nothing short of amazing at the Leftbank Annex. A fun, traditional Jewish ceremony followed by the breaking of the glass that kicked off a cocktail hour with glasses full of sangria.

Jackie & Matt’s guests were greeted at Leftbank Annex to a fun colorful ombre escort card wall and were pleased to find their seat for the ceremony alongside a wonderfully colored aisle by Anna Mara floral

Long farm tables and café lights were the perfect setting to serve up some paella from Crown Paella and kept guests full until we brought out the fun flavored popsicle cart by Ome Cali later in the night. Guests imbibed with delicious cocktails and danced the night away to music by Dancehall Days.

Thank you, Jackie and Matt, for the opportunity to plan your day and wish we could do it all over again! Best wishes to you both and congratulations on your marriage!
