Jenna + Greg

I cannot begin to tell you what a joy it was to plan Jenna + Greg's wedding.

With the bride + groom busy in medical school, it was Jenna's  mother Kristine whom I had the pleasure of working with.  This is one exceptional woman. Classy, sassy, smart and knows what she wants!

When it came to the wedding, Kristine + Jenna had a few priorities....a meaningful ceremony, over-the-top floral, an abundance of food and a super fun party.  They were definitely speaking my language!!

The ceremony, at St. Mary's Cathedral, was officiated by Archbishop Schwietz, a close family friend who had performed every family sacrament for the past ten years.

A 12 person choir along with strings and a trumpet fanfare set the tone for the beautiful ceremony and the full Catholic mass was everything the couple was hoping for.

The floral was beyond exceptional.  From adorned pillars and railings at the club, tables overflowing with fluffy peonies and a dripping chandelier, no detail was overlooked.

Some other fun details were the sequin linens, ombre escort card wall, a delicious cake covered in intricate sugar flowers (and topped with Jenna's grandparents' cake topper) and the bride's stunning Hayley Paige gown from Anna's Bridal

Guests were treated to tons of passed appetizers and a five course meal which ended with digestivi carts.

The toasts had everyone in tears and really made clear what a pedestal Jenna's five siblings held her on. And Uncle Lou, a 90 year old relative serenaded the couple and celebrated his 67 wedding anniversary the next day.

With a dream team of vendors, the sweetest clients and a perfect sunset, this wedding was certainly one for the books.

After our daughter became engaged, the next joyous decision we were able to celebrate was choosing Nora and her team at Bridal Bliss. All stress and anxiety were immediately alleviated as Bridal Bliss flew into action, turning our daughter and her fiancé’s wedding dreams into reality. Every detail was meticulously coordinated with Nora offering her expert counsel and experience at each step of the way. The vendors that Nora assembled, all of whom were awarded the best vendor of the year award for Portland, were team players who worked to create a conception that was beautiful, romantic, and breathtaking. Nora will forever hold a place in our hearts as we look, for generations, upon a celebration that was one of the best days of our lives.

Martha + Jody

I knew from the moment I met Martha and her mother Betsy, that this wedding would be a dream! The classic, elegant details fell together naturally. Martha and Jody live in Boston, so we worked together remotely.

Three months before the wedding, news broke that the Royal Wedding would happen on the same day. For many, I think this news would be sad, but Martha & Jody weren’t phased at all. If anything, the couple was happy to have a smaller spot light on them. Friends and family flew in from all over the United States, Canada, and Europe to attend so there was a whole week worth of festivities to celebrate.

Portland always has an unpredictable spring, and sure enough the weather was questionable right up until the big day then cleared and blessed the wedding with the perfect amount of sunshine. Guests were able to enjoy the golf club grounds before and after the ceremony.

Since the Portland Golf Club inside space has such a big, open floor plan, we created a temporary, elegant wall between the ceremony area and another space where all the dinner tables were set so guests could experience each part of the wedding without seeing what was coming next. The space was transformed from classic ceremony, to partial outdoor cocktail hour, fine dining dinner, then party dance floor. My favorite detail of the night was the mini maple syrup favors we placed at each place setting (the groom and his family are from Canada).

Of all my years coordinating weddings, I’ve never hear better toasts! The maid of honor, best man, parents of the groom and father of the bride all gave heart-felt, kind, well-spoken toasts to the happy couple. It was clear from the stories they told, that Martha & Jody are meant for each other and are surrounded by love and support. It was such a pleasure working with both the couple and their incredible families. Heres to your next adventure together!

Kendall + Kyle

I had the absolute pleasure of working with the Westphal family twice this season!  Both sisters were married this summer and selected Bridal Bliss to help coordinate their special days. After getting to know the bride and groom quite well, I couldn’t wait to see Kendall and Kyle’s vision come to life.

The two opted for a traditional Catholic ceremony at The Madeleine Church in NE Portland. The church was filled with friends and family from both Oregon and Texas, Kyle’s home state.

After the ceremony concluded, everyone headed over to the west side of town, to The Portland Golf Club. Guests were greeted by the golf club staff with local beer and wine, before gathering on the patio, where John Ross of John Ross Music was serenading the crowd with an acoustic set.  They also had the opportunity to snap a polaroid for the custom guest book designed by the couple.

After making their way through the gorgeous dining room, filled with hand picked rentals from the Party Place, and lush floral arrangements from Good Seed Floral, guests were seated for a beautiful plated meal, prepared by the golf club. Watertown Films was able to catch the adorable first dance, the newlyweds shared before dinner.

We were treated to a pretty amazing line up toasts, seriously both sisters NAILED it at each others weddings, and then some delicious cake from Beaverton Bakery. Everyone also had the opportunity to snap a few silly photos in the photo booth provided by Snap Bar.  Then, it was time to party, and these Texans know how to party!!  Armed with music by The Coastline, everyone danced well into the night.  I’m just glad that Amanda K Photography was there to get the whole, fabulous day on film! Kendall and Kyle, I wish you nothing but a lifetime of love and laughter!! As for both Westphal women, PLEASE call me if you need coordination in the future, you guys really know how to throw a party!!

Libby + Chris

What a pleasure working with Libby, Chris and her family on this drool-worthy wedding!  I adored the Opsahl family the moment I met them at our initial consultation, and even more so the more I spent time with them.  There is so much love in this family, and especially for their newest member, Chris.  Libby wanted something soft, romantic, timeless and elegant for her big day.  She was studying to become a doctor so extra time was not easy to come by for her.  This allowed me to get to know her sister, Tori, and Mom, Suzie to help nail down the details.

Libby's vision was certainly achieved at Portland Golf Club and it was the first wedding ceremony they've allowed on the golf course!   Guests were greeted to the ceremony with a beautiful view, a Kir Royal cocktail, and a lush arch designed by Zest Floral that the couple would soon be standing under.  This wedding took place the day after a massive fire in the area which had thankfully calmed down earlier that day. However, there was a slight haze as Libby + Chris said their vows, which actually made for amazing photos!  The ceremony was personal, humorous and officiated by a very close family friend.  After the I-do's, guests enjoyed cocktails outdoors before making their way into the clubhouse for a festive evening.

Each couple received an escort card on a floral vase and found their tables overflowing with flowers and candles.  The head table had a full runner made of lush floral and a backdrop of a mantle dripping with gorgeousness.  The entire day was flawless and beyond memorable. Libby's dress was beautiful with a jeweled neck and statement back (a hot trend for 2016!), her bridesmaids were perfectly styled in the color scheme, Event Team Entertainment kept the dance floor packed and the towering cake by Dream Cakes was a stunning focal point.  I loved everything about this wedding, this couple and this did Mod Wedding! Congrats you two!

Courtney + Ryan

Courtney and Ryan celebrated the joining of their family with their adorable son Alexander at the beautiful and scenic Scholls Valley Lodge.  Lavender and pink florals dusted the ceremony and led to a stunning birch chuppah. Their reception at  Portland Golf Club couldn't have been any more fun with tons of upbeat songs, a surprise slideshow and sparkling mini bottles of LaMarca dipped in glitter! This couple's love was evident and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their day!
