Mona + Shayan

Mona and Shayan were two of the best! Being from Portland originally, they both reside in the Bay area now, wanted to bring their family & guests back to their home in the PNW. They wanted to give their guests the full Portland experience with a Persian flare.

They landed on The Nines in downtown Portland. The night before guests were invited to sip on drinks up on the trendy rooftop of Departure and continued celebrating the next day in the Grand Ballroom at The Nines. The sofreh was decorated beautifully with floral from Floral Sunshine and an amazing spread of personal and family items covered the entire stage. An 8 ft’ wide aisle set the stage for Mona’s gorgeous gown along with floating candles in tall water vases.

Once Mona & Shayan said “I Do” it was time to party! Mona & Shayan opted to have a later dinner and have the guests engage in some dancing right after cocktail hour. It was fantastic to see everyone hop out of their seats and get their dance on so early in the night! The Nines, as usual, served amazing food with a fantastic drip cake to seal the deal. What a night celebrating Mona & Shayan -  Congrats you two!

We had the pleasure of working with Catherine Sammon on our wedding. We hired her as our day of the event coordinator but I feel like she was involved in every step of my planning. I can not describe how helpful she was and how calm she kept me (the bride) throughout the whole process. Given that we were planning our wedding long distance, she was truly God sent and all a bride needs. She was 100% reliable and knew what she was doing. She is an amazing listener and an easy person to work with. I was at times a bridezilla but she never made me feel that way. We are forever grateful to Catherine.

Best of Bride 2017

Oregon Bride Magazine is has an amazing reputation, for several reasons.  First (of many), is putting out a truly beautiful publication.  Second is the annual Best of Bride bash!  It is the industry event of the year and each themed party is better than the last.  Not only is it a blast reconnecting with some of the area's finest wedding professionals (and some of our favorite vendors!), it is also when all of the Best of Bride winners are announced, which makes it all that more exciting.

This year's theme was "fire + ice" and I had the honor of working with Heather Matheny to bring it all to life! We included all kinds of fun details like ice bars, nitro appetizers, fire dancers, costumed stilt walkers, coordinating cocktails (the Prosecco, St. Germain and Pineapple slushies were amazing!) snow machines, spiked popsicles a sleek loungey vibe to name a few.  My favorite detail? The firemen that carried the hosts, Heather and Alisa, to the stage!

The night was capped off with a big win for Bridal Bliss--we were named "Best Wedding Planner" and "Best Day Of Coordinator" of 2017! Thank you to Oregon Bride Magazine and a big congrats to all of our fellow winners and nominees.

It takes a very special person to be a wedding planner. According to Forbes, we have the fifth most stressful job out there. While there are certainly stressful aspects, it is also incredibly fulfilling and so much fun.  What makes Bridal Bliss special is our team.  In my humble opinion, we have the most dedicated staff around.  This crew gives up evenings and weekends to take care of our clients and make sure their wedding is everything they had hoped for and more.  We take on the stress so that they don't have to. I'm so blessed to be surrounded by such a special group of people.  These women inspire me with their creativity, their willingness to go above and beyond, their encouragement to each other and their attention to detail. They truly make me a better person and planner.

Vannessa + Marcelo | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Kimberly Kay Photography

Vannessa & Marcelo have a passion for traveling, so when it came time for their wedding we of course had to sprinkle this theme into their amazing day. From day one Vannessa had an amazing vision for her wedding day and I was so excited to help bring it all to life. Incorporating gorgeous candelabras, greenery, lots of candles and personal touches about their relationship - no detail was missed!

After a beautiful ceremony at The Old Church guests headed over to The Nines which provided the perfect backdrop for this glam wedding with a touch of travel.  Guests were greeted at The Nines by an amazing escort card table. Each card had been carefully tied to a mini airplane, that had been spray painted gold by Vannessa & Marcelo. The table was adorned with vintage suit cases and framed pictures from their travel theme engagement shoot by Kimberly Kay. As guests awed over the table they enjoyed signature drinks including a Moscow Mule, Vannessa favorite, and a Caipirinha, a tribute to the grooms home country of Brazil.

Inside the ballroom the tables were perfectly set for a romantic dinner being decorated in lush flowers and candelabras. One of the best details inside the ballroom was the lush and decadent sweets tables. Filled with fresh fruit, mini desserts and Brazilian truffles. It was truly a perfect night as guests dined and danced the night away. We loved being apart of Vannessa & Marcelo's wedding day and the pictures are just simply stunning!

Bahareh + Nick

Bahareh & Nick were married at The Nines Hotel on a beautiful December evening.  These two were not only stunning (!!!) but so much fun to work with.  With a gorgeous all white Persian Sofreh serving as their altar (designed by the bride herself), the couple were married by Nick's Uncle.  He incorporated readings and snippets of the Persian ceremony all while performing a traditional western ceremony.  Bahareh worked so hard creating each piece on the sofreh herself and she did an amazing job! Their guestbook was a puzzle of a photo from their stunning engagement session.

For dinner, guests sat amongst tables with grey linens, white napkins and silver chargers.  The centerpieces were tall white branches that each dripped in crystals with votive candles around the table.  DJ Behzad, from Seattle, played music that kept everyone dancing throughout the night.  A beautiful night for sure!

Caroline + Alex | Portland Wedding| Oregon Wine Country Event Planning and Design | Mosca Gallery | Zest Floral

Nora had the opportunity to work with Caroline and Alex on their gorgeous wedding and loved every minute.  This darling couple chose Director’s Park as their urban outdoor ceremony location, and THE NINES HOTEL for the elegant and festive reception to follow.   Caroline and Alex are as sweet as they come, and their families are just as fun as they are.  The girls had a great morning at Caroline’s parents’ home while the guys loaded up DOUBLE DECKER PDX to join the festivities and begin photos. | Portland Wedding| Oregon Wine Country Event Planning and Design | Mosca Gallery | Zest Floral | Portland Wedding| Oregon Wine Country Event Planning and Design | Mosca Gallery | Zest Floral | Portland Wedding| Oregon Wine Country Event Planning and Design | Mosca Gallery | Zest Floral | Portland Wedding| Oregon Wine Country Event Planning and Design | Mosca Gallery | Zest Floral

Caroline’s father worked with Nora to put together a toast that we will not soon forget.  He arranged for three actors to come in and fight over Alex in the middle of his toast…two women and one flamboyant man. After the hilarious interaction that ensued, David (Caroline’s father), asked everyone who had a key to his place to bring it up.  It was a parade of women, ending with a darling grandma.  The entire audience was in tears laughing so hard. | Portland Wedding| Oregon Wine Country Event Planning and Design | Mosca Gallery | Zest Floral

As if the toast wasn’t enough, David & Caroline (a former Blazer dancer), surprised guests with a choreographed upbeat father/daughter dance.  What a way to kick off the party!  Big thanks to Portland Bride + Groom Magazine for featuring this fab event! | Portland Wedding| Oregon Wine Country Event Planning and Design | Mosca Gallery | Zest Floral

We met Valerie & Ken Troyer over ten years ago when Nora coordinated their wedding day.  Ever since, we have had the opportunity to plan all the events for their family and corporate events!  From holiday blow-outs to summer soirees for HYDRO-TEMP MECHANICAL, one of our favorites was their recent 30 year anniversary party held at THE NINES HOTEL.  Ken & Valerie wanted to have a celebratory evening to thank everyone that has helped their family run company become such a success. | Corporate Party Planning | Holiday Event Coordination and Design | Emily G Photography | Corporate Party Planning | Holiday Event Coordination and Design | Emily G Photography

Melissa + Charlie | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Lauren B Photography | Blum Floral

NORA was so sad when this wedding was over.  Working with Melissa and her mom was such a joy, and they just might have been some of her all time favorite clients. They have great style, but an Italian sass that continuously kept her on her toes. The day was perfect—even though we had to execute our rain plan, everything flowed beautifully and the GROTTO CHAPEL was breathtaking.  The evening “garden party” that Melissa envisioned was brought to life and was breathtakingly beautiful. From the tablescapes, to the gorgeous linens, to the romantic lighting, to the intricate cake–this wedding (which was featured on STYLE ME PRETTY) was was pure perfection. | Portland Wedding | Oregon Event Planning and Design | Lauren B Photography | Blum Floral

Nina + Kevin

Nina & Kevin’s wedding took place last June at St. Patrick Church and THE NINES HOTEL.  KATY worked this wedding and fell in love with the couple.  Their church is easily one of my favorites in town…it is drop dead gorgeous and it allows you to have a ceremony later in the day.  This is rare for Catholic churches!  The turquoise, yellow and white tones of this Spring wedding are fresh and beautiful and I love the use of succulents (especially as the escort cards!).  Plus…her dress is unique and stunning.  Take a peek!
