Kendall + Josh

Kendall and Josh will always hold a special place in my heart.  I clearly remember the day that Kendall, her mom Karen and her maid of honor, Kinsey, came in for a consult.  Not only did we have an instant connection but I just knew there would be something special about their wedding.   As a child, Kendall had always dreamed of getting married at her childhood home, which is also a working farm.  Upon my first visit of the property, my mind was blown with how stunning the location was. Gorgeous views of the countryside, the kind you see in movies with horses running in the background.  It was the perfect spot.

The ceremony was going to take place amongst the field of tall wheat grass and the reception, inside the horse arena on the property.  Now this wasn't any old arena, it was a beautifully built, covered structure where Kendall and her mom were able to ride their horses daily, rain or shine.  Given that the floor was all sand, Kendall's family, along with Josh's had a "flooring party" where they carefully laid plywood to create flooring for the event.

Having a blank canvas to work with, we opted to keep the natural beauty of the building, while adding elements to make it feel more like a wedding venue. For the ceremony, Kendall's father, David made a ceremony structure (out of wood from their original family home), Blum Floral dressed the piece with florals to make it look as though it was growing out of the ground and Letters + Dust even hand painted a quote for the couple. The ceremony had everyone crying tears of joy for the couple, myself included. Oh, and did I mention that guests were escorted to the ceremony by the Sheriff's Mounted Posse??

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the back lawn of the family's home.  After which they made their way to the reception where we hung 3 massive gold chandeliers down the center of the ceiling and used a combination of exposed wood farm tables and round tables with ivory linens. Tall and short floral arrangements of lush ivories, whites and blush florals along with Fruitwood chivaris, gold beaded glass chargers with round menu cards adorned each table. The most amazing night for the most amazing couple and family.
